Cars, aircraft, boats... I'm sure some of you guys like actual functional models of vehicles

I myself have quite a few 1/10 scale cars, trucks, and buggies, along with some micro sized aircraft of various types. Got a lone 26" long boat too lol.

I have had dozens of R/C aircraft(easily over 100 over the last 30 years), used to do 10'+wingspan gas aircraft . Back in the day I built all kinds of TopFlite wood kits and scratch built aircraft. but haven't had time or a good field, so it was off to heliland and foamies like a lot of folks.

and some electric fliers, including my custom foamie Habu with metal retracts and custom decals draw up by myself and printed by caligraphics

I also have about a dozen micro planes and helis, and a slash 4x4 brushless basher.

Eventually want to get back to one large gas aircraft, like a clipped wing taylorcraft with smoke for nice days at a field. My buddies have gotten into $20k jets, it gets to be a bit much. Kind of sick of 3D, want to get back to a good IMAC scale aerobat with smoke, and maybe one large 700 scale heli, like an apache with functional crew or a nice 500D. And just bring two big scale aircraft to a field and enjoy a day out, old-school style. Nothing like a big tasty slow hammerhead with a big plane and loads of smoke. I've kind of gotten bored with all hyper all the time. I wanna hear a big plane crushing air molecules across the field. The one I fly the most these days is my old strykers on 4S I just throw in the trunk and fly anywhere(can even catch em if you dont have a field).

Nice aircraft Kevin

Finally got around to adding decals and added some better landing gear to my F7F, which I test flew last weekend. I want to fly it again soon, weather allowing....

Venom,. that Tigercat is GORGEOUS! I don't participate in R/C modeling but I've been a regular viewer of YouTube vids of scale model R/C planes for some time and love seeing beauties like this being flown.

Do you have any video of it in action?

Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't have any video of it in action. Maybe next time I fly it I might get someone to video it lol

So I decided to experiment with this 1/10 scale Tamiya FD3S RX7 body I have and this is the result:

Still needs a bit of work to finish up, but I thought I'd share this little RC project of mine.

Cool headlights! I've debated getting the Cessna but I haven't flowin RC in ages. I've resorted to nano quads and helis that don't need to be outside. It's always too windy to fly here.

I have a Slash 4x4 and 2 boats (Proboat Volere 22 and Formula Fastech) but I dabble in making my own micro RCs. The city is at my work.

I have always been interested in micro sized R/C cars, but they are pretty pricey for their size lol

Anyway here is my most recent kit, a Tamiya M-06 that came with an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA body:

Plan on changing a few things with the electronics eventually, but even so it is a really fun little car with the current setup.

About 15 years ago I use to have a Schumacher RC car, CF chassis etc but sold it all a little while later. Recently saw the mini Kyosho stuff that has the GTR shell etc and lets you do drift mode or 4WD, they're on the wish list for next year!

im using this Yokomo MR-4TC at the moment. it has always been used outdoor, but found a indoor drift track nearby, so it was completely taken apart and cleaned. then assembled with some new upgrades.
still runs the electronics i originally bought for it back in 2006.

i made a thread with some more about my RC cars: https://www.diecastx...my-110-rc-cars/

I have a few build and a few still in the box. Tamiya is my go to supplier, though I have a Axial SCX10 Jeep Cherokee crawler that is near finishing.
I have a Grand Hauler with lights and sound (again, almost done), Monster Beetle, Lunch Box, Unimog CC01 a TT01 Merc and still in Boxes and unbuild a TT02 Porsche, another TT01 Merc, Renault 5 Rallye, and Globe Liner truck. I think that's it haha.

Tamiya kits are indeed quite fun to build. Been thinking about getting another one myself sometime, though not sure what yet.
Anyway long time since my last update, bought a bunch of random RC land vehicles over the past year, lol...

Axial Yeti Jr, which is roughly 1/12-1/10 scale (listed as a 1/18 but is way too big for a 1/18 with the Maverick body):

Replaced the stock motor and ESC/Receiver combo with a Castle ESC and a more powerful brushed motor than stock.

Axial SCX-10 III 1/10 Jeep Wrangler JLU crawler:

Has a fender delete kit, an additional servo for both 2 speed and DIG function, steel wheels, and different tires

RC4WD 1/14 Overland 6x6 off road utility truck:

^ The box for that was so large I had to have the top down just for it to fit in the passenger seat...

Heng Long 1/16 M1A2 Abrams tank:

Upgraded with metal tracks (with rubber pads), metal sprocket, metal idler wheel, slipring and turret drive gear for 360 degree rotation, upgraded motors, and metal gearboxes.

Kyosho Mini Z MR-03 1/27 Mazda 787B:

Body is slightly beat up after driving it around a lot, but it has a few upgrades in the form of LiFe battery conversion and an upgraded motor. Plan on changing bodies sometime soon though.
