We have some JDM projects, but it's not one of these models, sorry.
oooo pray tell.. if you are allowed to that is.. :) or perhaps throw us a hint or two 😁
the one i listed are just some of the many great JDM subjects out there I think most of us would be happy to see just about any worthy Japanese subjects being made into miniature 1/18 scale 😉

The old City Turbo is indeed a very cool car and I regret to this day for not getting one when I bought the discounted AutoArt’s CRX.
The second pic to a SEA version of Honday City was more of a joke actually. It was a rather unsightly car which I believe was based on Honda Jazz, they just added a boot to it so it can be marketed as saloon

I’m with you there, Jazzy! I goofed up not getting one, too. My diecast Honda grail collection of available 1:18s would be:
City Turbo Bulldog
An AutoArt NSX (any colour or version!)
AA CRX (Honda I did manage to buy, lol)
Otto Integra R quad headlights (on order; no more missing out on iconic fast Hondas for me :))

The City in the second picture was a big hit in Indonesia and India. It was the second generation of the Honda City to be sold here and was marketed as a executive car, a notch lower or equal to the Corolla. I drive the successor to this City which we got in 2011. While it will not be a big hit in Europe or NA, it is more than enough for our roads. Peppy engine and tranny and quite nimble on our congested roads and highways. Mine is a white car but this is my Paudi model of the example sold in South East Asia. The automatic car comes with paddle shifters.

The 5th gen Honda City like the one you shown above is actually quite a looker and I love how the front looks. Not so much from the rear though.. and like most Japanese subcompact/compact at that time, they tend to be tall and skinny which I think is great in term of being a utilitarian vehicle but the overall proportion looks bit off. I had a E120 Corolla for a number of years and that too looks tall and skinny.. remind me of the design cue from Suzuki Liana that was prominently featured in the earlier part of TG.

The 4th gen I referred to earlier doesn't look "natural" or organic which I suspect it is was based off Honda Jazz, with a boot added to it. Like the earlier Mazda 2 saloon and Suzuki Swift. Many makers tried to capitalise on the emeging markets in South and South East Asia at the time and the market preference is saloon so i think they just hastily made these sedan cars for those markets using the existing subcompact hatchbacks. However the ugliest one I reckon would go to Toyota Echo saloon LOL. We almost bought it as it was only $500 more than the 1.3 Hatchback.. but fortunately we went with the hatch instead as it looks way better, and cute too.

Honda Australia brought the 5th gen City to slot in between Jazz and Civic but they were too ambitious with the price tag IMO. They wanted close to 30g for one where as at the same time you can still get base Corolla or Lancer for less. It is like Honda thinks they have gone premium and jacked up the prices

I was quite fortunate to score the AA NSX Type R during clearance sale. Actually bit more of a consolation for missing out their last AA Porsche 964RS. Still want the original NSX though but at the rate these beauties are going for I think my best bet would be say.. Solido? And if they do.. working popup lights please like the BMW E31? :geek:;)

Which strange subject matter?
Please disregard. Keep doing what you're doing. You guys are the best bang for the buck since the HWE Ferraris ceased production. I'm sure there are MANY collectors praying for you guys to make more JDM models such as the Lancer EVOs, 300ZX, Silvia, 3000GTO etc. I bought both versions of your Supra and am very happy! PLEASE produce the '90-'96 300ZX 2+0 Twin Turbo and '90-'00 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4! :)

I'm back on the official Solido facebook pages - those that are dedicated to modded models from their range!
Members need not be concerned, I will continue to converse on here to you mere mortals....

2023 updated list, nicked from Diecastsociety.
To me the most interesting is the Peugeot 306 Maxi - listed as 1992 which is impossible.
With a bit of luck it will be the Evo version of the kit car.

Can you believe that.. a 1:18 diecast company that, for once, listens to its customers and clientele??!!🤯

I definitely want to say thank you to @CatRM for just being in these discussions with us on this board. I was one that had inquired about cars such as the model bolder above, and it looks like it is on the way! Can’t wait for pics!

Quite a few on my wishlist that didn’t make it, but beggars can’t be choosers, and I’m happy that just one of the ones on my wishlist made it.

Many of the models listed above are paint jobs - I feel sure there will be new tooling to come along, possibly at the Nuremberg toy fair.
If you see anything that fits with what you want, lucky you.
I have been listing large numbers of potential subjects in the last 2 years or so, and there are none that I hoped to see (yet?)....

It just happened to be that (in this thread) I asked for an a90 Toyota Supra, and it was included in the list. That’s why I was excited about it and I am still looking forward to seeing the pics and eventually getting one when it comes out. So I have to give credit where it’s due.

With that said, I totally 💯 understand what you’re saying. There are quite a few models slated for release that are repaints of molds that have already been released. Some of them might have new rims or other decorations, but they are the same molds that we have seen. I understand it is a business and each mold that is created needs to be milked because of the R&D it took to create each of them. But at the same time, we would like to see more new molds as well. I certainly had a wish list myself, and only one of them seems to be on the way to becoming reality. I do hope that they continue to listen to the community and create new molds as you’ve mentioned.

As the owner of an A90 Supra, THANK YOU! I have been sitting on my hands for so long waiting for AA to tackle it that they've gone numb. I'm glad to see Solido tackling this model and CANNOT wait to buy mine.

Don't worry, it will be a 1998 rallycar. 1992 is just a typing error ;)

I know this is a silly nitpick, but does anyone know if Solido is going to create an all-new body for the 1975 Beetle Baja, or modify their 1303 Super Beetle body? Most Bajas are constructed using standard Beetles with the flat windscreen and torsion bar front suspension. I sincerely hope they don't use the curved windshield body. And my preference is for a narrow-eye Baja- which do you guys prefer?
