Sticky stickers

Just found a great way to remove the sticker residue off the AUTOart stickers ( why on earth do they use them ?, there must be better way of keeping the opening parts shut )

Use Autoglym intensive tar remover (very sparingly )

I dabbed some on the sticker residue with some kitchen roll and left it for a minute, then I wiped most of it off with a cotton cloth, and then to finish, use the kitchen towel that has the cleaner on it to wipe off all traces. I took a few minutes and no heavy scrubbing

A bit of wax afterwards helps as well

So far, the paint hasn't melted off, so it is safe to use ( it is designed for car paint after all), but I was very careful not to get it near any plastic or rubber on the car.

Job done.

thanks for hte info pete, i have 2 AUTOart with residue on them
I use a piece of scotch tape and just keep dabbing at the residue and it comes off clean.
You have to use the good stuff and change it a few times but it does a great job.
The residue will stick to tape better than it sticks to paint.

I hate that :x ing residue though!

That's how I remove the crap as well but while I'm doing it, I reach deep into the dark side of my vocabulary to express (mostly silently) my true feelings towards AUTOart and their packaging methods.

I must remember the scotch tape idea, seems much cleaner as well.

I heard using WD40 is a good way too. Is it true?
