The Subaru Impreza 22B is finally in my Nineties JDM lineup. The Autoart Impreza was available only in the blue and yellow WRX form locally. While I have the rally and WRX version for the past few years, the civilian car was sorely missing. Thanks to Solido, I am happy to add this well made model to the collection.
The model captures the essence of the 1:1 quite well. The proportions are right, the paint is well applied, smooth and glossy. The metallic flakes are just right. The panel gaps are tight atleast on the opening doors. There is proper paint match between the metal and plastic parts. The tires even have proper markings and the centre caps have STI printed on them. The brakers are also nice with red calipers and brand printed sharply on the calipers.
The downside is obviously the sealed engine compartment and the opaque front grills. Come on Solido! The 22B needs a nice engine in it.
I held out for a long time to get this model in the hope that I could land an Autoart for a reasonable price but none seem to drop below the 200 $ mark. Someday maybe.
Nicely detailed interiors. Particularly live the steering with the red stitching.
