if anyone has money down and wants a refund, from exoto or hasn't recieved a model, asked to speak to tony, advise him that you going to persue charges for wire fraud and contact the local office of FBI, it usually gets his attention ,

it a shame I was able to purchase most of my exoto models form "design In Motion" which took f the hassel out of dealing with exoto. but I had a large order, from exoto which they started screwing me around on after I had made a complete payment, they refused to ship the order ,I contacted pay-pal and they froze his account for 24 hours .he overnighted my order to resolve the frozen account issue. customer service is a huge issue with exoto.

Please excuse my ignorance but I don't quite understand who you contacted Paypal about, Exoto or DIM?

That's the only language these guys speak I can assure you. I would ask to speak to "Tony or Jack" and when you get the runaround from the aloof receptionist, tell her to leave an urgent message for both of them to please call the California Attorney General's Office about a report you're filing with them for wire fraud.

Seriously, does anyone have a good form letter we could make up and all of us mass mail them, expressing outrage at how our fellow collectors have been stolen from and we want their refunds issued immediately before we start sending complaints to all 50 states Attorneys General offices? Let's do it!

Is this the "Got FCKed by Exoto club"
... I guess im not the only one who screwed by this scammers.. I stop dealing wit them for over 2 years now & will not ever buy another Exoto model...
There are plenty of us here at DX who sympathize with you. I too have quit purchasing their models after a 6-month battle to retrieve a simple refund.

I know this is an old thread but I'm getting f-ed by Uncle Tony as we speak so I'm here to share my latest experiences. After putting down money (payment in full) for the McLaren MP4/6 model in summer 2007, and a $100 deposit on the Chaparral 2D in fall 2008, and after reluctantly realizing that I'd never see either model, I decided more than two months ago that I would seek a refund. Ever since then, it's been one story after another. The BS they pull is so ridiculous I can't believe it. First I had to yell at Dawn and threaten legal/public forum action to even get Tony's attention. Exoto simply won't respond at all unless you resort to this kind of tactic, as I'm sure others can attest. Then Tony had the nerve the say I should apply my "credit" to other models, and if I didn't I would owe a cancellation fee, to which I replied (a) where is the documentation proving I agreed to any such fee (there is none, of course, he's just making it up), and (b) you've had $300 of my money for 3 years and $100 of my money for 2 years, so the way I figure it you owe me interest, f---stick. Tony eventually approved my refunds in writing via email, but another month has gone by and, lo and behold -- no check! Having had no response to multiple follow-up emails, I called over there the other day just to hear the latest excuses. I decided to go to the accounting department instead of sales. I ended up on the phone with this non-accounting clown who was trying to tell me the checks were cut and "should have" been sent already. Of course, he didn't know when they were sent, or to what address! And of course there was no tracking information. And, of course, he couldn't connect me to an actual accountant. And he couldn't again when I called again a few days later, because the accountant was on a "conference call." And of course he didn't call me back today as promised. Really? Man, they're so bush league it hurts -- and that's being downright gentle. All I want is my $400 -- I'm not even asking for the interest I would get in a successful lawsuit. Boy, what a lousy experience.

Don't fall for their "I'll mail you a check routine," because you'll never see it! You honestly have to file a report with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) if you want this taken care for. It's really a pretty simple process and can be done online! I no longer purchase from Exoto directly because I had a similar experience. Oh, and what ever you do, DO NOT agree to any of Tony Ks deals that he will attempt to offer you. Just get your money back! I'm a bit surprised that they're still at it... I had heard rumors that Exoto was changing their ways. Guess not.

Tony is getting on the phone now? Are you kidding me? How bad must things be at Exoto for God himself to be talking to the lowly customers? Going to check out Exoto's Facebook page now and try to link here from there.

Edit: LOL They only have 28 friends.
Wow! 28 friends...

I actually have two voicemail messages saved on my cell phone from the Big T himself.

It'd be easier for customers if that's the approach they took. Instead, the months/years of sweet-talking and

are maddening. I am so glad I've never dealt with these dirtbags directly and feel really bad for all their victims. Tony K and his cohorts need to realize that karma's a bitch.

i have never had a problem with buying direct from Exoto, i have never pre-ordered a model only ones they say are in stock, i did have to phone them up once though because the tracking info told me that the parcel had been sent to Germany, they told me that it wasn't a issue & UPS would deliver it on time, which they did a few days later.

i have heard problems with people pre-ordering models from Exoto & that Exoto take the money straight away.

I have no interest in this having no exotos. But there is something missing here. Where are the headquarters ?
Where does dip shut tony work from? Somewhere in USA? What about a delegation of clients demanding attention, perhaps vigalantees doing some wheel removal to company vehicles before thw staff and management drive away.

My advice is to never pre-order from them. Although I eventually received the cars I ordered, 2 of the sharknoses, I was very frustrated by the fact that they charged my credit card for the full amount 6 to 8 weeks prior to the eventual ship date, and this was for a car in production. From now on, if I decide to buy any of their cars, it will be from another dealer, and only if that dealer has the car in stock.

Sorry to say guys but you are being had buy a manufacturer who doesn't have the capital to cover their goods.

Preorders are simply a way to obtain your money to put towards future product development. They don't have, nor will they have, the funds to produce these models otherwise. Any company that rolls out preorders and payment plans is simply looking to use you as a credit source. This is a foolish thing to do since you have no reasonable expectation on when you money will be returned to you in the form of a product. All these "announced" but not "released" products are not "delayed" there is simply no money in the coffers to allow for product to be produced. It is more nefarious in this case as collectors are being rushed into handing over money buy the threat of "limited availability."

Sorry but their is only one question to be asked, when is Exoto going to obtain the proper working capital required to run a proper business.
