Granted, even if there was a long wheelbase V221 model, I wouldn't pay that much. I don't think I want any model that bad.
Agreed. That is crazy money to pay for a static model. But with luck maybe Norev will tackle this subject soon? Perhaps in both normal and AMG guise?

I'd love that if they would. It's pretty odd they've done W116, W126, W140, W220, W222, and W223. They skipped W221 for some reason. I do like that Norev always does the S-class in long wheelbase.
Knowing that my opinions are usually unpopular, I have to wonder if the reason they didn't is because W221 was the least liked by the general public? I know the W220 was one of the least liked, and it's my 2nd favorite. :ROFLMAO:

I actually share similar interest with you in those big saloons so you are definitely not the only one standing alone 😁
Yea you are right, they pretty covered all the S classes (since the official designation of S class started with W116) all but the W221... Personally i thought W221 looks better than W220 and anedoctal evidence shows that W221 fares better than W220 in term of long term reliability? Then again it doesnt really matter for most of us as any faults with out of warranty S class can easily leaves us in tears, and a broken man (or woman)

I think they should definitely consider W221 at some point. They are even making the old W111 now, and they did a W186 300C which i believe is the S class predecessor long ago, likely re-used the same mould from Ricko?

I secretly hope they will consider a W203 in the near future although i think that is the least popular C class of among others.

I also think the W221 looks better than the W220, but I always liked the styling, or at least the side-view of the W220 and the W203 is similar. Smooth and rounded, with a very distinct wedge shape. Low nose and tall rear. I just really like that shape. Probably the only thing I didn't love about the looks of that generation are the huge bug-eye shaped headlights, but the side profile makes up for it in my eyes. The W220 definitely has a poor reputation for reliability, I think mostly the electrics and suspension. The engine and transmission were pretty solid, I believe.

It seems the W221 isn't widely disliked as the W220 is. Doug Demuro seems to think it was one of the "best designs ever".
🤷‍♂️It'll remain a mystery to me why no one other than AUTOart has ever done a W221. Of course, he hates the W220, as I would expect!

I don't know much about the S-class predecessors, but I might have to add some to my collection.

This auction ends this Saturday 21st, and it's already at € 1.000!!

Guess which model it is?

Absolutely 🌰🥜🌰🥜 nuts!! I wonder how much it'll go for in the end... 💸💸💸💸💸
3010E final price! NO COMMENT 🤐 🤐 🤐
Honestly I didn't believe it was going to do more than € 1,500, but holy crap, over € 3k!!!:eek::eek::eek:

That's it, unless someone else makes it, or AA makes it again, it is now with a heavy heart (but thankfully not a light wallet as a result) that I declare my hunt for the legendary AA F1 over... :(

...

Some other models sold yesterday:

€ 1,380.00
1:18 AUTOART SIGNATURE 78273 Pagani Zonda Revolution blue/black carbon / LA 348 | eBay

€ 355.00
1991 Mazda 787B Le Mans 1:18 AUTOART SIGNATURE 89142 #55 Special Edition/ LA 386 | eBay

€ 301.00
1:18 AUTOART 74625 Lamborghini Bat LP670-4 Super Fast China LT / LA 347 | eBay

Another Sunday, another bunch of AA models under the hammer...

€ 406.00
1:18 - AutoArt - Porsche 928 tobacco brown metallic No. 77903 - in original packaging / 7 or 433 | eBay

€ 358.00
1:18 - AutoArt - 1997 Nissan R390 GT1 Le Mans 'Unisia Jecs' 89777 / 7 N 443 | eBay

€ 353.00
Autoart 1:18 Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior Interceptor Original Packaging #7901 | eBay

Now if I only knew this would go for so little (in comparisson to other auctions I watched), I'd have had a go myself:
€ 269.00
1:18 - AutoArt Porsche 911 930 Turbo Wangan Midnight Blackbird 78156 / 7 N 444 | eBay

I'm surprised how much these Aventador are coming down in price. They're such great looking, well built diecast models.
€ 266.00
LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR COUPE LP700-4 RED 1:18 AUTOART #74669 / 7 N 445 | eBay

And then there's this Zonda R, ending tomorrow. It's at €805.00 at the moment. Another one went for €1,380.00 yesterday...
Pagani Zonda Revolution Black Carbon Fiber - 1:18 Autoart 78272 / 33 575 | eBay

If AutoArt's are fetching that sort of money I'm tempted to start auctioning off body parts ;)

Yep, strike it while the iron is hot! :D

Although if I had one I'd still keep it, tempting as the easy opportunity for a huge profit may be.

Isn't Almost Real supposed to be making the F1? If they do and if it turns out better than the AA (it probably will), these people who spent fortunes on the AA version will be kicking themselves so hard they'll end up on A&E.

So, remember the €3,010 McLaren F1 the other day? Well guess what? It's been relisted on the 31st of January, and in the end sold for a more "realistic" €766.00!

More or less like this one from another seller sold today, for €705.00

McLaren F1 LM Autoart 1:18 | eBay

So what happened there with that bm-modellshop auction?

A case of "It was the dog who done it!"?
Buyer regret?
Drunken bidding?
Troll bidding?
Shill?

Who knows... That left me scratching my head so bad I ran out of dandruff!

Either someone really screwed up their bid or it was a bad joke. Either way it was never going to be 3k (If it were I'd sell all my cars on the bay lol)

Is that on eBay? Got a link for it? (y)
There you go mate..

Hopefully these links work because search by item number no longer work

and i completely missed the ending of the white Alfa Spider this morning

It went for AUD$141.50 and I thought these are average at $300 at least nowadays. Perhaps this gives us a glimmer of hope of getting these out of production beauties at fair price from time to time. And that is how I got my mint royal blue Kyosho BMW E60 M5 last year for about $130.

That's €124.00, so maybe because it's unboxed? They've been selling for much more elsewhere: AA 190E Evo - SOLD eBay

€90.00!!! Wow, I'm living in the wrong continent! :D

They've been making €200.00 to €270.00 elsewhere: AA Alfa 1600 - SOLD eBay

It's true, interest for these older AA Millenium seems to be waning. This new influx of collectors that the pandemic brought in, I don't think they know or care about these older models. Or maybe there are other reasons, like cost of living forcing people out of their hobbies.

Well, whatever it is, fine by me! I'm still more or less in the game, so more chance I will end with a few of these!
