Not sure what to make of this…. Granted it is unboxed but during its heyday these commands $600 or more easily. And this particular example is the original release with the misspelled Mercedes on the engine cover
the same Evo2 model was relisted shortly after…
Still fetched about the same amount at the end.. maybe just $20 more this time.

eek and look at the discoloration on the plastic bumper
I think it's just the reflection from the photographer/camera/phone. This shot shows it as being much better and you can see the reflection better which shades part of the body:

More pics here. Ultimately, it's easier to see defects once it's out of the box.

yep it's on the front bumper in every single pic. Rear bumper not so much. It's a known flaw with a lot of autoarts that have separate plastic bumpers

I sold that Z06 a very long time ago, when it could be had for literally 1/10th of that. I didn’t like it… the rims are too small and don’t fill out the wheel wells properly, and the gunmetal paint on them looks bad. And yes, lots of cheap plastic all over the model.

I’m guessing a lot of the people paying these prices for it own the 1:1 and are just desperate.

Yeah, the Lexus ls350 in pearl white has the same issue. And the Diablo 6.0 in orange.

It looks exactly how my local car bodyshop does accident repairs on 1:1 around here, I can spot a car that's been on a crash from a mile away, because of the different shades! :D

I'd love to have a C6 Z06 in the collection because I love Corvettes from C3 to C6, so it's just a completionist thing for me. No way I'm paying more than €150 for one, with shipping included, that's my limit. And definitely not getting the yellow one now!

The C5 also has the same wheel well gap problem, I think it's because it sits too high at the rear. Not sure if an easy fix on the C6, but the C5 - being based on the UT - is a lot of work.

As an owner of a 1:1, I don't think the wheels are too small.....maybe the body sitting a bit high to your liking makes it appear that way ?
When these models first appeared, many of us C6 Z06 owners thought there were going to be a number of versions from several manufactures (like the previous C5 ) but that never materialized.
The MSRP for this model was just over $60.00 USD
Once the C6 was replaced by the C7, this particular model (and the Hot Wheels version) started taking off in price...especially the AutoArt version in Victory Red. Those are highly sought after and command a premium.

That's why being part of a community such as this can help people "smarten up" and learn about different model cars, and what's a fair price to pay for each of them. Most of us who stick around long enough will eventually pick up a few tricks, but sadly, not everybody.

Other than that, people are supposed to exercise some restraint, do some research and shop around, even people whose money apparently comes a lot easier and plentiful, compared to others.

I think anyone paying that sort of money for a Hot Wheels needs to have their noggin checked. Or as some say, a fool and his money soon part ways...
