I always thought the Hot Wheels Foundation Maserati MC12 had one detail that was better than the Elite: the removable hardtop. All other elements were (more or less) easily detailable into Elite-spec, specially considering there's a Tremonia kit with lots of PE grilles!

This is what I did to it:

- Place photoetched grilles on all air inlets and outlets (Tremonia kit);
- Add fabric & PE safety harnesses (Tremonia kit);
- Swap the windshield wiper by a photoetched unit (Tremonia kit);
- Add photoetched bonnet locks (Tremonia kit);
- Change the horrific chromed plastic pedals for a metallic pedal box (Tremonia kit);
- Paint the back of the seats to make them look more like carbon fibre;
- Simulate door rubber seals;
- Detail the dashboard (buttons, paddle shifters, steering wheel);
- Detailing the engine (weather the exhaust pipes, add sensor cables and stuff, realistic colouring the whole engine block. add wiring, cabling, hose clamps, damper remote tanks, );
- Swap the headlight lenses by clear "domes" (by Légende);
- Sand down the tire thread;
- Black out the air outlets over the front wheels;
- Black out the interior of the exhaust pipes and roof air intake;
- Darken the reverse taillight;
- Add depth to the brake discs and detail the brake callipers;
- Detail the undercarriage (including the fixation bolts);
- Add a Monaco licence plate and it's respective illumination;
- other details that are appearing!

This is how it turned out:

Really nice job! That side view of the engine could almost be a 1:1
I'm not familiar with the model, so it's a compliment when I say that I couldn't tell which parts had been modified, everything has been done so cleanly and it's elevated the whole model.

Thanks! As I often say (I know, I might be repeating myself too much), engines are the part that gives me more please to work. Glad you liked it!

Thanks! That detail bugs me too, but as I use to say: I rather they make the wheels a tad too big than too small (just look at the Anson Ferrari Dino 246 GT and you'll know what I'm talking about. The original model has low profile tires but not THAT low:
Yeap i know exactly what you mean. I had one before LOL. The thickness on the Dino is simply unreal and I was close to swap out some good parts i.e. the tail lights from the Anson and put them into the Hot Wheels 246 GTS but realised they dont fit unless I cut them so gave up on the idea.
