You said it, "Corporate Look".. you know it's a Ford & that's all they want to push..even the new Mustang has hits of the current corporate theme..so, ultimately, COHESIVE!!
LOL!!

heers my friend!

I still think that the Taurus looks less sporty than my Mondeo/Fusion model...
Yes, I've noticed that about the Mustang. The car looks nice but I didn't like the omission of the scallop after the door on the rear quarter panels and losing the faux gas tank cover in the rear. Very un-Mustang!

I agree the Fusion/Mondeo is much sportier looking than the Taurus.
I was looking at your Mondeo model, although it looks to be very well made, the color doesn't do much to reflect the sportiness of the real car. Maybe, it looks different in person and the camera does not quite capture it. Not saying anything negative about your photographic skills, but the essence of some things are difficult or impossible to capture on photographs.

Cheers mate!

Hi Batman,

Well, this time around the Mustang is officially an international car and I think that the current generation under 50 would rather have and 'Honest' design with no faux parts(I know that I do). So, I'm really sold on teh newest Mustang design overall

Yeah, it's actually 'pearl white' in reality, but i ALWAYS use my iPhone or my Samsung Galaxy for my shots here on DX since my digi-cam bit the dust just after I joined DX years ago
..the lighting was bad as I was trying create a mood...but, I could see this model looking good in a light blue, dark metallic red and grey to show the form better..Cheers!

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the new Mustang design. I seriously contemplated on getting one but I have no place to park another car. Three is enough! It was just the two things that were a part of the Mustang's signature design that I miss on the new car. I know they are calling the Mustang an international car now, but I thought it always was. I've seen plenty of them in Europe, Asia and Australia in the past. My Dad even drove an '64 Mustang convertible when it first came out, along with a VW Karmann Ghia convertible (both white with red interior) in the Philippines.

I would really like to see that Mondeo model in ruby red, just like my Fusion!

Cheers mate!

[/quote]Hey Batman,
Yeah, I'm sure it was that whole "Authentic" theme that resonated with the designers of the new Mustang, one of them being a college friend of mine & a former co-worker while we both worked as Ford 'FoMoco' Designers.. that said, I would really consider a new Mustang for a current car more so than ever now mainly because it has a IPS outback
When I worked for Ford, back in 1999 I was one of the first people in the company to get the then new 2000 Lincoln LS 6-Speed and that was supposed to be the used for the Mustang platform, but it never happened..That was a fun car for a 24 year old to play with
I was just hoping that it would be used on a V8 powered 6-Speed Mustang, but that never happened

Now, I see more brand new Mustangs that ever here in Europe and this time they're all Euro-Spec'd so someone didn't have to ship one from the States or Canada just to get it over here and they are really selling well to Ford's new International image. Also, you see the New Fusion/Mondeo as a hatchback/wagon over here too and they looks good. That new Taurus from China is MIA though and I don't know if Ford will sell such a large car over here in Europe

If I were in your shoes, I'd buy that Pearl White 1/18 Chinese DE Ford Mondeo, then have someone back in the states take it apart(if you can't) and then have it repainted in your exact color scheme of your 1/1 Ruby red fusion just so you don't ever miss out on getting a model of the car that you actually drive

Cheers My Friend & Take Care!!

David
