Hey folks,

Unless I'm missing it, I can't see much here about Topmarques. I've not bought one before and just wondered what your thoughts/experiences are. Ok or anything I should know about.

Thank you :)

I'd be interested in seeing reviews and photos as well, particularly the Mosler MT900 and the Saleen S7.

To this day I'm unimpressed with the XJ220. From the few photos I've seen of it, I think there's something wrong with the shape at the front section, it looks too wide at the front bumper. But then I never seen a detailed review with good enough photos of it.

I'm really quite tempted to just go ahead and get the Mosler just to see what it's like, that would be my very first resin and since I'm biased against non-opening model cars, it will have to be damn good looking in person for me to want to keep it.

They have completely useless customer service. I have reached out to them several times and they do not ever respond. Seems like they have gone backwards over the last year or two. I think a member here used to work for them at one time. I forget his name though. I have a couple models from them, the XJ220 had some qc issues, but the Saleen S7 is really quite a good model.

I have two of their models, the Alfa SZ and the Jaguar XJ220. The SZ is pretty good, but I've always been unhappy with the XJ220, the shape is indeed way off in several areas around the car. Neither of them came with QC issues, but they seem to be really poorly thrown together, I've had several parts fall off on each. I haven't bought anything from them since and with their pricing what it is, the subject matter would have to be very tempting, and they'd have to step it up as far as quality. So many of their models look to have inaccurate shape, lines, proportions, etc. So I'd sum them up as worse quality than Otto, except much more expensive.

I have a Group 5 Lancia Montecarlo, but to be honest, I don't think I've looked at it since a quick once over when it arrived - I'm pretty sure it's still in its box somewhere (although that's true of far too many of my diecasts).

My initial impression was pretty positive I remember, but it was a long time ago and I got it heavily reduced, so I'm not sure how fair a reflection that memory is!

I also have a group 5 Lancia from Topmarques, but had forgotten who originally issued it.
I say issued, because as far as I know it's a subsidiary brand (Spark?).
I have a feeling the roof is a little bit too low, but otherwise I am happy with the model.
I doubt anyone else will produce one now, although since Minichamps did a number of similar group 5 models, I thought they might.
Speaking of Minichamps, I sometimes wonder if 'cancelled' subjects had reached any sort of full blown prototype, which might see a change of heart.
I am aware that some cancellations were merely paint jobs, and these would need little effort to resurrect.

TopMarques were / are a sub brand of BBR.
Neither - it was a joint venture that ended in March 2015. Nothing nasty apparently, just went their seperate ways.

Funny you mention Spark as they also made/make one (It's quite recent, I think)

I took another look at my Topmarques group 5 Lancia Beta Montecarlo models, and compared them to the Spark images online.
I would have to say neither has captured the car as good as they should have.
The Topmarques has the roof height about right, although the roof at the top of the windscreen is a bit too pronounced.
It also suffers from the windscreen and the roof being too narrow - looking pinched.
The Spark is better in this area, but I don't think the roof is quite tall enough.
I bought both of my models at around half retail price (+10%) which is probably fair given the slight inaccuracies.
I wonder if Solido would consider......

Hi, a bit late in responding but I have to agree with some comments here about Top Marques Collectibles. Their customer service is as bad as it gets. I ordered and paid £200 for a pre release 1/18 Arnoux Ferrari 126C2B in Dec 2019 and I sent about 20 emails and a dozen phone calls, of which about 2 emails were answered, to find our what was going on. The content of the email responses and promises were total lies. And please note, this model was released in summer 2020. They just didn't send me it. After close to 2 years have passed and a few weeks ago, in line with their policy I decided to formally cancel the order. I still haven't received any refund or response. Shocking and don't know what else to do to get my money back. I would buy GP Replicas models, just not from Top Marques.

Did you pay on a credit card? If so, raise a Section 75 claim with your credit card company. If you paid on a debit card, you can try a chargeback, but that's less powerful and I don't think it's a statutory route whereas s75 is. I'm not completely expert in either process so I'd recommend the Moneysavingexpert website.

Good luck, their customer service really does sound terrible.
