For my fantasy, Smokey preferred the metallic gold, as it made the car more visible on the race track.
And as to allegiance, Smokey worked for anyone whose check cleared.
For the SCCA, the "scru" crew sent Smokey home with a couple of corrections, primarily instructing him to install factory homologated front and rear spoilers, and to remove the headlights (among other things).
Now, back to the build.

One thing that GMP really screwed up on their original molds, and ACME continues to this day is the location of pins holding the trunk closed.
Here I have corrected that error by mounting them in the proper location, which is what the cut-outs in the ends of the rear spoiler are for.
