Hello,

I've owned this model since 1998. It has only been displayed for about 1 month in its entire life, and hasn't even been out of its box since 2000! I was bored so i decided to get it out and take a few photos.
The price these are now fetching on ebay is unbelievable. in my opinion the detail isn't good enough to justify the price - the boot/trunk does not open and engine and interior detail is not the best.
Anyway some pics:

If anyone wants some more pics i will be very pleased to post more.

:cheers

Thanks Nadav and Gian.

@Gian - i do like this model, and like you i am glad i own it :cool . I just feel that it is lacking in certain areas when compared to current models.

:iagree

UT could have done a better job on this car. It deserves it. :cry

I don't remember where I read it, but BMW gave the clear sign to have this model re-released along with many other models for this year. I don't know if it's Autoart or Kyosho who will be doing it.

:cheers

It is a cool model, but i'm sure if AUTOart or Kyosho make a version it will be far better.

Gian - i've not heard about either one of the 'big twos' plans to make an E36. I suppose Gateway own the old UT moulds now though, so it wouldn't be such a big issue to modify them to meet todays standards (opening trunk, no doglegs, better engine detail, etc).

:cheers

I wouldn't be too critical of the model. It was considered very well made and highly detailed at the time it was produced and released. It's the most popular of the three colors that was made. I have the techno-purple which looks almost black under normal lighting condition.

TMD96 - i would agree that it was and still is a well made model in terms of build quality. Its just that the level of detail gives away the models age.
I have the technoviolet w/red cabrio and as with the coupe, it is a model that i like and that i enjoy owning. UT did a brilliant job considering that these are essentially budget models. If you look at other lower end models from the mid-late 1990s, nothing gets close to UTs.

:cheers

I have an Estoril Blue one too :happy

I dont think its too bad considering its an early release . It still knocks the spots of anything from Maisto / Burago etc from that time.
I too would love to see AUTOart re release this car . :cheers
