There are some days when I'm surprised by myself. http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/public/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif
This week there was such a day...

On Thursday I received my latest ebay bargain, a silver McLaren F1 for just 10 EUR.

I just wanted to refine the interior since it looked too grey and dull to me. But I've never seen one in person before so I googled for some pics to get ideas and found this http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/public/style_emoticons/default/yikes.gif :

Could there be any better color??? http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue4.gif
Suddenly the silver looked totaly boring...

Without further ado I decided to realize that immediately, took it apart and coated the silver paint with some layers of clear orange (Tamiya X26). http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/idea.gif
Within a few minutes it was done and the result just killed me

Into the bargain the real car had the best looking interior I found on the web:

So I copied that as well, added some carpet and seat belts matching the body color:

The engine got some paint, too:

So without any former plans and much effort I created a stunning eye-candy and surprised myself...

McLaren F1 • Atomic Orange

Outstanding! I have computer desktop wallpaper of that same metallic orange F1.

Great job on the paint and interior. While you had it apart, you should have put a little gold foil lining in the engine bay, like the 1:1!

WOW! Stunning work! I wish Minichamps would release their F1 in red, orange or yellow. After going through the pics I have on my computer of #75, Atomic Orange is the best color on the F1, I am convinced!
