Hey Raidou, what I can I say that has not already been said, please can you advise how to remove paint from plastic parts such as bumpers, skirts and so on as well as from rims. I've used a gel like substances on the metal as you advised in your respray tutorial and that works great but I am scared that it will destroy the plastic parts.
For sure! Don't get near plastic with those gel!

Usually I don't remove paint from plastic, just fine-sand it.
But if it's neccessary, U could use this: http://www.lux-modellbau.de/html_uk/sonst.htm
It's a mild paint remover that doesn't affect plastic or clear parts.
Also suited for removing decals/tampo prints.

how the hell do you guys know so much about the F1 with the chassis numbers, color combos, years they were built, and past and present owners haha. Is there an Mclaren F1 bible that im not aware of.
I'm a huge McLaren nut and I'm active in some dedicated forums that constantly review their sources as the cars alter appearance from their register in "Driving Ambition".

Hello Raidou,

2 new UT McLaren will soon come in addition to my collection.
I'd like to make one like yours, 'cause I fell in love with yours

Yes, it's available in spray can, it's TS-73 then.
But I can't recommend that!
I tried that first but it's very thin and running away from all edges.
It's hardly possible to reach a smooth and equal color this way.
You'd better apply it by airbrush.

Did you just paint over the original paint, or you stripped the paint first then applied new paint?

Hey, Rainer, can you tell us how you fixed the broken door hinge? Knowledge of how best to fix that problem might let me buy a broken UT and restore it to save some money.

I'd love to try your paint job too.

That's quite easy: don't open the door!

Seriously, I thought about building a new hinge from styrene but I didn't realized that yet.

Oh yes, the release color is the best on the P11.
Not sure about the design yet. Have to see it in person next week on IAA but for now I like the F1 much more.
Please take many photos when at IAA next week, especially of the model cars! (More specifically Mercedes-Benz for me =]) You mentioned your custom models will be on display too?

Are IAA promotion models only available at the auto show? I really like that orange SL65 Black Series, but it's an IAA edition.
