First car of 2020. TSM Lotus 56. This was on Ebay at a very reasonable price as it has a couple of minor faults (which I'm not bothered about). I've wanted this model for a few years, so great to finally have one now. Pic from the net

Oh yes, the Monza version is a far more attractive body shape with those bulges at the sides - very low and mean - plus the gold and black is beautiful. Mustn't grumble with the classic day-glow orange though! I plan to make a garage scene with my two Lotus 49s (Quartzo and Exoto), and this 56, all in a row having work done.

These two popped up on Ebay this evening so I grabbed them. The first is the GMP 312P(B), number 2, which I already have. This way I can either change the decals to a different race/chassis, or display it fully open next to my other one. Unboxed but affordable! Picture from diecast.org

Also a TSM McLaren M8D from the same seller, but this time with box at a very affordable £50. I have the Vic Elford black version, so it's nice to have this red Paul Newman version. That means I must have ten McLaren M8s now. Still a couple of the GMPs missing but I'm not too bothered. Pic from the net

Love the Chaparral, even if it's the Autoart model. Still a great model of a great car!

StratosWRC, that's funny! If I don't have a picture I've taken of the model in question, I just do a quick google and pick a good one.
I know the TSM M8s are fairly low down on the quality/detail scale these days, but I just had to have it.

Preisman, I too am tempted by the CMR sharknoses. Do you think the windscreens could be replaced with some nice thin accetate fairly easily? Any other little mods that could elevate the model? I would probably rough up the tyres too.

Superb adds. I soooo much want that transporter... Is it good in person? On the pics it looks ace.
If you've never seen the CMC you'll love it! Crazy to think when released the CMC was only £200 more!!!

I believe that's the CMR transporter, not the CMC. It certainly looks like a great model to make up a display with.

Love the XJ13. One day I will buy one!
I just had to have this McLaren M8B on Ebay last week. I already have two of these (one was converted to a yellow Vic Elford car) but at £35 I couldn't say no. They are still a lovely model in my eyes, even after twenty years. It's mint in all boxes, just a little dusty. I thought I might strip it and finish it in bare aluminium as if it's awaiting paint at the factory. Trouble is, the paint job and finish is so good, it seems a shame to remove it all. Picture is of my other one.

The McLaren M8s are fibreglass? Ooops, in that case I won't be finishing mine in bare aluminium!!! Floper54, yes the price was great. No other bidders which was strange, and nothing wrong with the listing as far as I could see. What do I finish it in then? Possibly plain orange with no decals - that could look good.
In other news, I succeeded in purchasing one of my holy grails. Not a car, but 1:16 is pretty close to 1:18. It's a model of the biggest tractor in the world - the Big Bud 16V 747, made in 1:16 scale by Diecast Promotions. It's big at 56cm long, and is a beast of a model. Not quite sure where this will be displayed, but I'll have to find somewhere!

It's a shame that Minichamps 956 isn't pure white, as I have a few plain white Porsche race cars (917/30, 906, 911GT1, 908) and it would sit well with them. Maybe you could take a photo to show us the actual colour!

Love the 250 Testa Rossa and the Alfa - both amazing detail. I saw the Alfa up close a few years ago in a model shop in Barcelona, and was so impressed.
Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to be buying models at the mo - things not going so well in the Jimbocars camp! I'm desperate to get a couple of new cars but priority is mortgage and food (how boring, damn it!). Love to see what everyone here is getting though, keep those pics coming
