I was lucky enough 3 weeks ago to win a 1:18 Audi Crocodile car on E-bay. After a bit of a run around by the seller, it finally arrived today, but the rear engine cover was not secured and the box was packed poorly. The piece flew all over the place inside the box, scratching the paint and knocking several of the parts off. The parts are somewhat fixable, but the paint is not. What should I do? I still want to keep the car, but I paid for a "mint" car and did not get one. Any ideas?

You HAVE to complain to the seller, and see what he says.

If you still want to keep the car then I'd say get some model paint and do some touch-up in the spots that got scratched. Did you pay alot for it? See if the seller will refund half of the cost. Couldn't hurt to try. Send him some photos of the damages if you have a camera. Good luck.
complain to the seller first. Show pics as proof. As this is his fault, with his crappy packing.

:iagree This is the proper way to go about things.

I have has some problems in the past with a couple of ebay sellers but was able to work out a partial refund whenever this happened. If you send ity back you are out shipping money and so is the seller so they usaully agree to just give back a partial refund and exchange partial feedback. That is how I would handle it.

This has got to be a joke. The car is and was in mint condition when shipped. What you are stating is absolutely impossible unless that package was destroyed. Ship the item back whith its original box as shipped and I will refund your money. I have shipped about 50 items previously and have NEVER had this happen. I

This was his reply. Time for negative feedback I suppose. First time I've left it about 40 transactions. :pullhair
well, ship it back in the original box then! But destroy it first... What a crappy seller.

I had an AUTOart Viper GTS-R show up busted. The vendor acknowledged the problem and sent me the money up front for shipping based on the post office's quote. I don't see why the purchaser should foot the bill for sending the busted diecast back.

Unless there was more to his message that you didn't include, I wouldn't leave negative feedback. Although there was a nasty tone to his message (at least that's what I read into it), he has offered to refund your money. Plus, if he hasn't left your feedback yet, he would probably use that as an excuse to leave you a negative as well. :mine
