  • NOTE:
    - Photos of duplicate diecasts are perfectly fine
    - LM Cars that did not qualify (DNQ) for which there was a diecast made is acceptable
    - If you're able to provide some info with your post relating to the drivers and placement in the race outcome, all the better. Here is a good weblink for historical Le Mans info
Please feel free to add your cars to this thread! All scales are welcomed!!

Minichamps finally shipped their 1982 Winning Porsche 956L driven by Ickx and Bell in 1:18 Scale! I didn't really expect to ever get this, but it happened. I'll post pictures soon! Engine cover comes off completely and both doors open. The engine is decently detailed, but not as nice as Minichamp's 906LH, all hard molded plastics, no soft/flexible details.

I'm thoroughly disgusted with the biuld quality of these; the shipment for my two arrived today: broken rear upright mount on one, the other attached but poorly misaligned, so it will have to be broken and reset to set it straight. Rough finish on the decals, poor engine cover fit on both as well, door gaps uneven--I've seen build quailty on $25.00 stuff better than this!!!! :pullhair

Mine has pretty good panel fit, though the deck is hard to remove. I have to admit my $30 Maisto GT1 Le Mans Winner looks just about as good. I'm definitly not thrilled with it, especially since the Exoto 910s can be had for the same price and they're much nicer, as was the 935-K3 from Carousel 1. And Minichamps 906 and 904 are better done too. The interior is decent, lots of paint details, though the belts are molded into the seat.

You've got a raw deal there. I am pleased with mine, as the only complaint is the engine cover fitting, but even this isn't as bad as some of the ones other guys have experienced on the forum. I must just be lucky with this one.

I am surprised Minichamps have let quality slip.
I wonder what the story was with these?...nice car, but has all the same flaws as #3 Lemans 956 quite a long time ago...
I think you'll find it has all the same flaws as the '83 car because is is the '83 car with a slightly different livery. And that makes it an older model in reality - it just took Minichamps an eternity to actually release it.

Aren't these threads intended mainly as galleries from each of the years of Le Mans? I just wondered if the discussion part of this topic could be split out to its own thread :cheers
At least once the Rothmans decals are added it sort of look's a little better.
