  • NOTE:
    - Photos of duplicate diecasts are perfectly fine
    - LM Cars that did not qualify (DNQ) for which there was a diecast made is acceptable
    - If you're able to provide some info with your post relating to the drivers and placement in the race outcome, all the better. Here is a good weblink for historical Le Mans info
Please feel free to add your cars to this thread! All scales are welcomed!!

At Le Mans 1984 everybody probably thinks only about Porsche 956's, but what about this little Mazda 727 that entered the race in C2 and finished in 20th place overall?

The model is by BIZARRE (= SPARK) in 1/43.

Porsche 956
1:43 Scale by Altaya

Driven by Henri Pescarolo and Klaus Ludwig this car won overall victory with 4900.276 KM completed. This same car also won the following year, a rare event at Le Mans. For Hernri Pescarolo this was his 4th and final win. Today his own Pescarolo team competes in LMP1 and came 2nd to Audi in 2005. For Klaus Ludwig it was his 2nd of 3 wins at the Sarthe. For Porsche this was becomming old hat with their 9th overall and 4th consecutive win, the streak would continue through 1987.

Porsche 956 - Team Australia

Peter Brock / Larry Perkins

A rolling start saw a battle ensue between Vern Schuppans Porsche and Bob Wolleks Lancia . Team Australias race started with Larry Perkins behind the wheel , pitting after 12 laps with an unexpectantly early need for more fuel . After 3 hours and with night approaching , Peter Brock was racing along in 5th position when he had the misfortune of a front wheel parting company with the car . A crawl back to the pitsand subsequent repairs dropped the Team back to 35th position .
Three hours later at around 9pm , a rear suspension arm broke whilst Larry Perkins was driving at near top speed through the Mulsanne kink . Avoiding a potential spin at 350kph , Perkins pitted and returned to the race after losing 14 minutes for repairs . Team Australia clawed their way back up to 20th position and a decision was made to push harder into the night to recover lost ground . However , just prior to 2am , with Perkins driving , the Team Australia effort was over with the carending up caught in the catch fencing at The Esses following a high speed overtaking manouvre that simply ran out of road .
