If you had the opportunity to start your own company, what 10 models would you choose to start a company up with. Do tell which scale, price range, quality and detail range would they be in?

Forget about models that are already made, forget about licensing, forget about all of the hurdles. - just name whatever you want.

I would choose these 10:

1) Bugatti Veyron 16.4
2) 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Coupe and Convertible
3) Mercedes Benz SLR
4) 2007 Corvette Coupe, Convertible and Z06
5) Ferrari F430 Coupe and Spyder
6) Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe and Spyder
7) 2007 Porsche 997 Turbo Coupe and Convertible
8) 2007 Porsche GT3
9) 2006 MV Agusta F4 1000
10) 2007 Ducati Desi RR

I would go with 1:12 scale, Maisto like Quality and Detail and all for approximately $100.

I'd do all these in 1/18 with Hot Wheels Elite Series quality for about $60.
Rolls Corniche (1995 version)
Rolls Corniche (2002 Last of the Line Edition)
Rolls Silver Spur (1999 version)
Rolls Silver Cloud (1955)
Rolls Camargue (1985)
Aston Martin Lagonda (1979)
Porsche 911 GT2 (1995)
Mercedes W220 S55
Mercedes W220 CL600 Coupe (1999 version)
Maybach Exelero

What a tough choice. I'd go for the following:

1) American Motors AMX/3
2) Original Ford GT, (first GT40)
3) Early Porsche 930 Turbo, circa 1977
4) Early 80's version Maserati Quatroporte
5) Ferrari 275 GTB
6) 1958 Packard Hawk
7) 1962-64 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk
8) DeTomaso Mangusta
9) Bizzarini Strada GT
10) Graham Hollywood

All in 1:18 scale, midway between Maisto and Minichamps quality. . .

1. '71-'73 Mustang Convertible
2. '68 Mustang Convertible
3. '69-'70 Mustang Convertible
4. Early Fox-bodies Mustang ('79 Pace car and '82 GT)
5. Sunbean Tiger
6. '70-'71 Torino Convertible
7. '74-'78 Mustangs specially the Cobra and King Cobras
8. '69 Trans Am Convertible
9. Early Pantera
10. The original Mustang I concept car.

Of course they would be 1/18 in the Authentics level for around $50. :giggle I would skip the "working" features and dedicate more to eye candy.

Looks like everybody is disregarding your rule about not paying attention to what is currently being made, Darrick. so....

ISO Grifo
ISO Rivolta
De Tomaso Mangusta
AVS SHADOW Mk 1
Alfa Romeo Montreal
Ferrari P4
2nd Generation Honda CRX
1st Generation Jaguar E-Type
Maserati Bora
Lamborghini Jarama

1:18 scale, Authentics/Hwy 61 quality and price (any reason they can only do domestic cars?)

Good call Darrick!!! They would be on my list too!

I think you left out one very important part of the company... THE NAME

Carlisle Collectables first 10 releases would be...
1. 1992-98 Ducati 900SS/CR (of course :giggle )
2. 1965 Chevy Impala SS Convertable with a 396 cid engine
3. 2006 MV Agusta F4 1000 Tamburini
4. 2006 MV Agusta F4 1000 Senna
5. 2007 Ducati Desmosedici RR
6. Honda RC-51 of Colin Edwards
7. 2006 Ducati Monster S4Rs
8. 2006 Aprilia RSV1000R Factory
9. 2002 Suzuki TL1000R
10. 1999 RC-45 of Aaron Slight

The bikes would all be 1/12 and of Minichamps quality with a MSRP of $55-$65 USD and the car would be in 1/18 and of Highway 61 quality with a MSRP of $50 USD.

Whew, that was tough!!! If you asked me tomorrow, I'm sure the list would be different (except for 1 & 2)...

I would create a company to fill the gap between Minichamps, Kyosho and Norev and supply models in 1:18 scale to Audi.

2000 DTM TT-R Abt test car
2002 DTM TT-R various drivers
2003 DTM TT-R various drivers
2004 DTM A4 various drivers
2005 DTM A4 various drivers
2000 B5 S4 Avant
2003 RS6
2003 Allroad
Nuvolari concept

And ofcause, I would have to make now the Mk1 TT in higher quality than Revell. It would be Ertl Authentic/Kyosho quality around $50. I have to have it in Raven Black as it is my color, but Lake Silver, Amulet Red, Brilliant Black, Aviator Gray, and Imola Yellow will follow. I'm not a huge fan of other TT colors.
