Hello all,

Here is my latest arrival - the 1:18 BBR Ferrari F430 in beautiful Rossa Corsa. I bought it about a month ago and after a nervous wait it has finally arrived (and in one piece, which is always a bonus). The F430 is my favourite Ferrari and BBR have captured it beautifully with this model. The overall detail is great and I'm especially happy with the interior. This model is not, however, without its faults...

It suffers from the front ride height problems most BBR F430s do (although not quite to the extent I've seen on some) and a slightly larger than desirable gap below the passenger door. Finishing/paint around the side mirrors could be improved. The bonnet is also slightly off centre, creating a larger gap on one side than the other. Most annoying of all, upon removal from the box the bonnet wouldn't latch shut. It kept popping back open until I took to the latching mechanism with a pair of pliers. It's still not perfect, but at least the bonnet closes now!

Anyway, on to the important part - the pics!

Beautiful F430 there!

The BBR 430 certainly isn't perfect and, frankly, some of the faults that are on this model is just not right for the price. But then, my favourite model in my collection is the BBR F430. Lol.

Just wish they would've done a Yellow version (coupe and spider) and a Rosso Corsa Spider with the 5-spoke rims.

Anyway, congrats on finally receiving your model after one month.

I think it's cracking & I love BBR's items, but am surprised about the little problems you've mentioned, for the money I'd expect it to be perfect (I know that a lot of people will say 'good luck with that') but we're talking about a decent piece here!!

All I can say is, having both, I really wish I had never purchased both. Reason why? Well, the BBR shows where the Hot Wheels lacks. I have my Hot Wheels on display ALONE at the moment and without the BBR overshadowing it, it's great. It's only until they're side by side do I think the HotWheels is not so great. I'd LOVE to have more BBR's but the cost and chance of not so perfect quality are a bit of a gamble.

Even with nearly the same issues as Hermz, I don't regret my BBR purchase either. They are the best example of the F430.

I have no doubt that I'll end up getting more from BBR in the future just because the overall accuracy and level of detail is so good. It is a shame that they can't improve their QC given the price point. If/when they release an F430 Scuderia I'll just have to get one!

I can't believe you have the hood problem too! Mine has been like that since I got it from the original release. I have to keep pushing it down to find the sweet spot and not move the car. The second I touch the model, it pops back up. I want to take the model apart one of these days to take the mechanism out without ripping it, but don't have a lot of desire to take it apart right now.

Are you referring to the ride-height at the front? That was mentioned in my first post. It's a common issue with these models, although the gap on mine is nowhere near as bad as some I've seen. It's fixed easily enough anyway.
