Hi guys,

I'm looking at a AutoArt Mucielago 40th Anniversary Edtion, the guy claim its only 2000pcs world wide. Can anyone confirm that?

the price is about 3 times the normal AUTOart murcielago (which is about $70USD?, $130AUD in Australia anyway). It prompt me to ask is it really worth it? I mean if the production number on the normal murcielago is low anyway, coz they always seem to sold out then production stopped, then wouldn't it be worth more just to buy 3 different color or normal murcielago?

Please give some feedback guys, much appreciated.

If anyone can give me some ideas of production numbers would be great :D

Cheers guys.

I bought this model when it was new from an online retailer that had them on sale for less than $50. Italian exotics are not the main part of my collection but I had a Miura and this was advertised as a limited edition of 2000 worldwide. Basically it is like the other Murcielagos reviewed at other places on this site, but the interior has some white accents and details, the wheels are a gray metallic color rather than silver and the paint of the exterior is the beautiful blue-green-jade color. The doors on mine seem to have become less willing to stay up with age, but this model seems to be AUTOart at its best. It comes with a display case and a 1/64 model of the same car as a key chain. For what I paid it was a bargain. I have watched US Ebay auctions since 2005 and have seen them go for as high as $340 recently. They are not too common on Ebay but there have been 2 in the last month and there are 2 right now. You have to decide for yourself if the small differences are worth $300 and value in the future is just a guess.

$50?? That's exteremly cheap!

How many normal murcielagos do you guys think AUTOart produce?

I think new AUTOart murcielago from retail online is about $70 USD am i right?

but if you can get them as cheap as $50, then wholesale would be almost half that. We're all being ripped off BAD!!!

I don't think we could truly verify the actual production volumes, but the car was marketed as an LE of 2,000 pieces. From what I can remember, they only sold for slightly above that of a regular release, but that changed quickly as "LE Fever" hit. I think I paid about $90 for mine from an online retailer. The very next day he was charging $120! It's been awhile since I've looked at these on ebay, but the last one I saw went for ~$250. At their peak they were going for $400+.

The other colors, while not produced in Maisto-like volumes, are far from rare, so if that is what you seek then the 40th Anniv. is the way to go. The model itself is no better quality-wise than the standard issue, so no, it is not worth 3x the price. The real question is how much are you willing to pay for exclusivity?
