Yes, I've actually bought a couple of Bburago's at Costco that were in Maisto boxes -- probably because both Maisto and Bburago are owned by the May Cheong group. I've been buying them at Costco here in the U.S.A. every September since 2020. They start to put them out on display there leading up to the holiday season.

Those yearly Maisto pallets usuallly appear in month of July for us but i think some of the Sam's club in US has already started the 2024 run according to some Youtubers. There are certainly some exclusives that are different than what Costco receives but i think there aren't that many models which i would buy this time round.

Interestingly Maisto has re-released some of the Bburagos oldies and package them under the usual Maisto's special edition brand. I have seen Dodge Viper RT10 in wild green colour, E Type Jag in Coupe and Cabrio form, Bugatti Typ 59 etc.. I do hope to see more of those oldies (especially the Maisto's premier edition stuff) being remade for the Costco/Sam's Club.


My most recent trip to Costo... picked up another Ferrari 296 GTB this time without the racing stripes. Was secertly hope to see Monza SP3 makes an appearance this year but nothing yet. Also picked up the new Revuelto in the colour which i prefer, personally i thought green looks better than orange. But i will probably try to paint the rims silver as the black rims look dull and uninspiring.

 

Looking forward for these to arrive in the UK, it's a shame most of the 'more awaited' castings like the Valkyrie will be in wave 2 since it hasn't come out yet. Will check tomorrow, wish me luck!

 

"Wave 2" eh? yea i do hope that there will be another batch coming to us soon. The Valkyrie isnt something I have in mind but definitely wont pass up the chance of owning one at Costco's price. Also secretly hope to see Monza SP3 being included in it too, And my other wishful thinking is some of the past premiere edtion models being remade for Costco. I am kinda hoping to see Merc 300SLR Uhlenhaut.

 

Yea so far there has been some pleasant surprises from time to time like old Bburago models that you don’t expect to see.

they have done several runs of the Merc CLK in the last couple of years so I certainly they continue with some of those old Merced issues under premiere series.

 

Also, by any chance, would you happen to know the product code/id? Was going to call and ask if they had them in stock, but they need the product code to check...

 

@ZubiCars_YT I think they made slight changes to the 2024 packaging namely the word special edition is presented in several languages. But the product code should be the same across all and i confirmed two of my 2024 model boxes with different models all share the same code below.

 

Any idea when maisto and burago models will show up at costcos in Canada? I’ve been waiting for too long and wanted to know if anyone had an idea when they would do so.

They send what they have on hand when they load the container which can include poorer selling diecasts. No buyer from a major chain gets into those kind if details. It's no different than the assortments of Hot Wheels Mattel sends to stores.

I feel like that Trans Am would be fun to mod. Those wheels are awful, but if the shape is half decent it could be a good start at the price for a 70s/80s street machine build.

The boxes are standard and used for all their diecasts, but I'm sure if you look at the chassis of the F150 it'll say 1:21 or whatever scale it is.

I've heard good things about the Trans Am including that it's the best version out there (better than the Ertl version). You likely can't go wrong with it at that price point and if you do truly hate it, Costco has a great return policy. 😀

I doubt those are unsold or returns since both Costco and Sam's CLub each receives own special packaging. Assuming those are unsold and being returned to factory someone would need to repack them. The stock looks fresh every year with recent releases, or older models in new lick of paint. They probably want to make their stock looks fresh and attractive and you will always find some interesting colour choices on some of the older re-released models. Those eye popping colours makes me want to snag a few each time i walk past them but i've learned to resist the urge 😆

From experience, i think each wave comes with about 13 or 14 different models. With assortments of Europeans, healthy mix of old and new Americans, couple of trucks, SUV or police cars... and not forgetting the Datsun 240Z and Nissan 350Z 😁

The 993 Cabrio is an interesting choice for this year. If I remember correctly those rims have a slightly different shade of grey compares to the old one? I would be quite tempted to pick one up if i dont already have the cabrio made by UT models.

It matches my memory of the wheels from my blue one. If it was a coupe I’d buy another one out of principle for how cheap it is.

Given how popular the AA Diablo is I’m shocked they haven’t re-released theirs. They did the regular, anniversary and Jota if memory serves.

The black/gold Trans Am looks better than the blue one IMO. Costco only has the blue one so great if you happen to have both Sam's and Costco in your city, and can pick the one which you really like. I've seen news about Sam's already received their 2nd wave which includes the AM Valkyrie. I defnitely won't mind one at Costco's price. Still patiently waiting for our local Costco store to receive the 2nd shipment.

For those who have access to BJ's Wholesale Clubs they have the black / gold TA. I just bought a pair, one to check out and then one to (hopefully) flip to offset.

I'll have to check out Costco with the wife sometime as I think I'd like the blue TA to mess around with as a cheap way to dip my toe into the modding world. A set of GMP/ACME Drag wheels, some rear spring work and I can get that classic air shocked 80s street machine vibe.

I called my local Costco in Aberdeen yesterday and the woman told me that they’re scheduled to be in store on the 14th of September but the arrival date has already been pushed back a couple of times

Just seen a video about wave 2 of the models in Canada, he only did a short format one but from the looks of it, the green AM Valkyrie, white Huracan Perfomante, orange Revuelto, a few other recolours (Green Urus and an orange Sian etc.) On some other videos I've seen some comments about wave 2 spotting (1971 240Z, 2003 SVT Cobra, Porsche 550, and a 1955 Merc 190sl convertible) from what they listed. the first video (Short form) looks like it had already been picked though, so there could be leeway for the rest to be there...

 

@onlycertainman I suspect what u were seeing there are the "wave 1". The Valkyries should be in the next batch.

 

Yep, was in Croydon Costco today, same boring selection.

 

Now they have a huge 1:10 SF23(and red bull). Looks more than good enough for a shelf for $50... I got the bandit Trans Am too for one of those 'unprotected' models around the house for kicks. I have quite a few 'real' R/C cars in the collection too

 

Just managed to pick up a green Lamborghini Urus and the black Trans Am from the Aberdeen store 😊 It looked like they had a lot different models from the release back in September but I didn’t have time to pick through them 👎🏻

 

The black Trans Am is nice I bought that too to replace the blue one which i got during wave 1. I would have bought the green Urus if it isn't grossly underscaled. Such a shame as the shade of green they picked for the Urus looks really nice.

 

Might be going today, apparently they received quite a significant amount on the 3rd to prepare for Christmas, fingers crossed the Mistral and Valkyrie will be there...

Huzzah! Genuinely sorry for the atrocious images (didn't take any pics therefore had to resort to screenshots 😅 ), but just before my parents asked me "Why don't you check if they have any models left". I checked hastily where they usually are,but unsurprisingly they had removed the pallets. Luckily, there was an employee whom I asked if they had any left, and 100 models were left, but only 10 were avaliable/ in the actual shop and the others were In storage (this was the costco in thurrock for anyone in the uk wondering).
To my surprise, there were 3 alfa romeo Gulias, and a various other classic cars (namely the 190 sl which I also picked up).
I will post some proper pics as soon as I can

 

what?! There are Alfa Giulias from the 2024 pallets?? That is new to me TBH. Heck i really love to have one tbh. But for some odd reasons our local Costco stores dont seem to have received the wave#3 shipment at all. So missing out on the new Bugatti Mistral. Too bad i dont have any mates that work at Costco so i dont get any insider info. Maybe i ought to ring them up again and ask if they are still expecting to receive anymore new shipment or i have to aim for 2025 wave which is at least another 6 or 7 months away.
