Ferrari Daytona SP3 Rosso Magna - Burago
A budget model - in my opinion competitive to KK Scale models. I was curious what it looked like, so here it is. Burago advertised this model as a special, high-quality Signature model line.
I treated it rather as just another cheap model aspiring to become a "collector's model".
And what is it like live? Remembering that I'm comparing the KK Scale model, I think it's rather good, unfortunately with one big "but". The model is weak and you can feel it at every part. From the level of detail, to the quality of the paint, the processing/finishing of details, not to mention the interior and engine. In my opinion, it is not yet a real collector's model, but it is no longer a toy like other Buragos. And that's exactly the problem.
Because when you hold it in your hands you have this ambivalent impression. It's nice, but...
Overall, the bodywork turned out to be the best - I think it is well proportioned, the details are quite good, the paint is nice, but it has some minor paint defects, especially on the edges. The front and rear lights are only acceptable, there are no meshes, the wheels are even good, the discs are terrible - that's just the mix.
The interior is very plastic, although there are some details, tragic seat-belts, but the various textures and colors in the interior makes it a little better. The engine is only a few parts, although the carbon looks surprisingly good - a patent similar to the textured plastic in the AA, but varnished, which makes it look better than the AA in some places.
Unfortunately, the rear of the car didn't looks so well...
The chassis is weak, not only because of the compared to real car, but also because of its crude and primitive construction, reminiscent of the old Burago.
The door hinges are similarly primitive, they are frictional and open with big resistance, there is even a fear of breaking them.
The advantage of the model is that it looks good on a shelf in a showcase, not even from a meter, but from half a meter. As a clutter in a Ferrari collection, it will definitely fulfill its role, provided that someone accepts the KK Scale level.
Aha - it's still hard to understand why they didn't add a roof to this version. for me this is a big disadvantage.
It's hard to recommend the model, but if someone really wants SP3 - it's worth it compared to price, but you have to have a lot of tolerance for workmanship and minor defects.
